Error codes and methods for eliminating them for Ariston refrigerators and freezers. Such models are capable of independently identifying faults and reporting them to the owner by displaying the corresponding code on the display.
After reading the special table, you can easily identify the breakdown and draw conclusions about the advisability of calling a specialist and the approximate cost of repairs.
If the Ariston refrigerator does not freeze, gets very cold, or turns off a short time after being turned on, this indicates serious malfunctions inside the equipment. These symptoms, as well as the reasons that caused the problem, will be described in more detail in this section.
Error code | Description of the malfunction | Troubleshooting method |

FE | Defrost period has expired | Turn on the refrigerator |
FB | The compressor runs without stopping | Inspect the integrity of the doors refrigerator |
F01 | The freezer temperature sensor is faulty | The sensor needs to be replaced or adjusted |
F02 | Compressor does not start | Try restarting the refrigerator |
F03, F14 | Failure or defect of the power board | In some cases it can be repaired or replaced |
F04 | Freezer fan stopped working | You should disconnect the refrigerator from the mains, defrost and start or replace the fan |
F05 | Electronic board shutter fault | Replace or repair |
F06, F15 | The thyristor that controls the heating element is faulty or has a defect | Replace or repair |
F07 | There is no voltage at the evaporator temperature sensor | The sensor needs to be replaced |
F08 | Malfunction on the evaporator in the defrost system | Repair auto defrost mode |
F09 | Malfunction of unit temperature sensors | Possible break in the temperature sensor circuit, check their tightness |
F10 with No Frost |
Failure of the On/Off damper. | Replace or repair |
F11 |
Malfunction of the thyristor that controls the fan in the refrigerator compartment | Repair or replace |
F12, F28 | Lost connection between control board and screen, screen fault | Check the integrity of the wires |
F13, F16 | The fan in the refrigerator compartment stopped working | The refrigerator should be defrosted and the fan restarted or replaced. |
F17 with Ever Fresh |
Pump fault | Replace or repair |
F18 with Aqua Care |
Valve failure | Replace |

F26 | Air sensor is faulty | Replace |
F40-52 | Keys malfunction | Should be repaired or replaced |
Diagnostics and troubleshooting
If Error A1 appears on the display, the reasons may be the following:
If Error A2 appears on the display of your Ariston refrigerator, this means that the temperature is insufficient for normal storage of food in the refrigerator or freezer compartment. Causes of malfunction:
Prevention of the problem
To prevent the Hotpoint Ariston refrigerator from breaking down, you need to follow a number of simple preventive measures. Firstly, the device must be connected to the mains via a stabilizer. This is due to constant voltage drops, which negatively affect the condition of the equipment. The refrigerator consumes little electricity, so it will require a low-power and inexpensive stabilizer. Otherwise, you need to connect the refrigerator at least through a surge protector. You need to understand that repairs in the event of a breakdown will cost much more.
A1 – The temperature in the freezer has risen to critical levels.
A2 – The temperature in the freezer is not low enough.
F01- Compressor relay defective.
F02- Compressor enable relay is open.
F03- Power board malfunction.
F04 -No rotation of the freezer fan.
F05- Electronically controlled damper defective.
F06- Defect in the thyristor for controlling the defrosting heating element.
F07- Broken defrosting heating element.
F08- Solenoid valve defect.
F09- Program error Firmware failure.
F10- For NO-FROST model: damper On is faulty. Off, for CCZ model, the secondary solenoid valve is faulty.
F11- Defect in the fan control thyristor in the refrigerator compartment.
F12- There is no communication between the display board and the control board.
F13- No fan rotation in the refrigerator compartment.
F14- Power board defective.
F15 - Defect in the thyristor for controlling the heating element of the Multiflow system.
F16- No rotation of the refrigerator fan. The heating element of the Multiflow system does not turn on (for the NO-FROST model).
F17- Vacuum pump defective (Ever Fresh model), solenoid valve defective (Aqua Care model).
F18- AQUA CARE solenoid valve defective.
F20- The refrigeration chamber lighting lamp has burned out.
F21- NTC temperature.
F22- Defective NTC sensor in the refrigerator compartment.
F23- Defective evaporator NTC sensor in the refrigerator compartment.
F24- Defective NTC sensor in the freezer compartment.
F25- Defective NTC sensor of the freezer evaporator.
F26- CCZ air NTC sensor defective.
F28 - The display board is faulty.
In addition to the above codes, you can see errors on the refrigerator screen indicating that a control key is broken:
To eliminate one of the above errors, you need to check the wires from the button to the control unit, as well as inspect and test the contacts. If necessary, you will need to order and install a new button to replace the broken one.
