Why does my Acer Nitro laptop get hot?
Of course, no gaming system would be complete without a cooling solution that manages heat and keeps the system running optimally. The Nitro features dual fans with Acer Coolboost™ technology, which provides increased fan speeds and cooling capability, and allows users to manually control the cooling process when heavy use requires an extra boost.
However, many users note that sometimes the Acer Nitro laptop seriously overheats: this is tested both tactilely and using various performance monitoring programs. Should I worry about this and immediately contact service centers?
The causes and signs of an Acer Nitro laptop overheating may vary. Let us immediately reassure particularly impressionable gamers: if during some “hard” games (without throttling) the processor heats up even to 95-98°C, this is not critical, and urgent repairs are not required (especially for lines like Predator, Nitro, as well as for ultra-thin laptops).
What to do if your Acer Nitro laptop gets very hot
First of all, check if your BIOS is updated to the latest version. Any high-performance laptops, including the Acer Nitro, must be checked.
Enable Acer Coolboost - This application has been specially designed to improve system cooling by increasing fan speed during heavy use. How to enable Acer Coolboost? By default, this application is always disabled.
To enable Coolboost using Acer Quick, follow these steps. Accessing the program is quite simple: press the Windows + Q keys simultaneously to access the search “miracle button”.
Type "Quick Access" and press Enter. Select "Acer Quick Access" from the results. Move the Coolboost switch to the right to enable Coolboost. Suggest setting the power plan to "balanced" mode to prevent the CPU from overheating to critical temperatures.
How to prevent your laptop from overheating in the future
Follow the manufacturer's recommendations and do not expose equipment to increased loads for a long time. Always place your laptop on a hard surface when working or playing to allow airflow into the cooling system.
Clean the cooling system and reassemble all components. Check the thermal paste and if it is missing or the layer is damaged, please replace it with a new one. And remember: gaming laptops need to be cleaned and thermal paste changed regularly. This is best done only at an official service center.
